Tess Mosko Scherer has a diverse career in the arts spanning more than 30 years. Her career began as owner and director of Scherer Gallery in 1983 (through 2006) representing international contemporary artists and specializing in glass art. She was the Artistic Director of Shemer Art Center and Museum from 2015-2017. She facilitates leadership programs at Universities in China and Bangladesh for the World Academy for the Future of Women, and serves on the advisory board. While in China, she facilitated art programs in rural villages.
Currently, Mosko Scherer is the Executive Director of the Arizona Art Alliance, while maintaining a studio-practice and a private life-coaching practice. She developed workshops to help artists with professional development. She is an active member and served on the board of several art organizations including Arizona Artists Guild, the Sonoran Arts League and the Eye Lounge Collective Gallery in Phoenix. Her work is exhibited nationally, is represented by Van Gogh’s Ear Gallery, Prescott, and has won several awards in juried shows in Arizona. Mosko Scherer was named one of the '100 Creatives You Need to Know' by the Phoenix New Times in 2016. She is a grant recipient from the City of Phoenix, the Arizona Commission on the Arts and most recently, the National Endowment for the Arts for a research study 'Assessing the Impact of a Community Based Leisure Art Program on Veterans Whole Health' to assess the effects of participating in the arts instruction on the cognitive, social and mood experiences of Veterans.
